It's About Purpose

Hi friends,

Recently I was thinking about you all. Many of you I have met at networking events or through real estate. When we meet eachother, we tend to talk about our fields of expertise, however many times I have really wanted to know more. Who is this person standing/sitting in front of me? What have been their struggles? What is their story? There's usually not much time, or more to the point, people usually don't reveal themselves that way, and so I didn't either.

5 years ago, I went through a terrible divorce. The dividing of my family with young children broke my heart and wounded me for many years. I kept it undercover for such a long time. I never mixed my professional life with my personal life. I didn't speak to anyone about my deep grief. I lost the sense of who I am and struggled to want to know people anymore, and to be honest, I lost my love of life. I couldn't see my purpose.

What I've realised is that everyone goes through deep emotional grief at times. We are surrounded by people, intelligent people, professional people, who stay lonely in whatever grief they are experiencing, for fear of feeling exposed. I, for one, prefer you to be human. I know you're brilliant professionally, but we don't have single faceted lives. I promise I will love you just as you are.

And my purpose? My purpose is to make people feel amazing about themselves, and especially to reach down into your dark pit and help to pull you out if you need it.

How do I relate this to my career in real estate sales? Well, it's because I see you as a beautiful life creation that I deeply want to help you with all of my heart, to get the most successful result possible - this is because I see you, your dreams, your heart, not just the bricks and mortar.
